Ed Draper, who is a presenter on Sky Sports News has just tweeted this

"Twitter friends, heads up.

Had a dodgy-sounding call on my landline saying my internet was going to be disconnected and to press 1 to prevent this. Do not press anything!

Spoke to Sky Broadband and one lady has been scammed £40 in reverse
charges."

Not new, has been around quite a while.
Those calls are a nuisance, the second I hear and recognise the voice I hang up.
Been getting those calls for a while - 3 last Friday - I just hang up.
I usually put the call on speaker and hang up at the end of the spiel, after all they are paying for the call.
Like others, this has been around for ages. I had a spate of them about 3 weeks ago, they rang about 15 times over 3 days. Just ignored them.
