I'm looking for a particular legend relating to the symbol of the snake biting it's tail. How I was told it was that the snake overheard a secret that would bring about the end of the world if it was revealed, so the person who let the secret slip tricked the snake into swallowing its tail and keeping quiet forever. I think it's linked to either the Midgard Serpent or Ouroboros, has anyone else heard this myth?

The Midgard Serpent - Jormagundr - lies around the edge of the world and also bites its own tail. I don't think it was tricked into doing this though... it is just waiting for Ragnarok when it kill - and be killed by - Thor (probably played by Brian Blessed).
