We saw one yesterday. There are supposed to be thousands of them. Where are they?
Clouds of them here apparently. They visit in numbers once every ten years or so, this time possibly aided by warm winds from Africa helping them to cross the Sahara and eventually reach the frozen north.
Seen three on my buddleia bush (was thrilled).
I'm thrilled to see any butterfly, except perhaps for a Cabbage White. :-)
I've been keeping my eye out for weeks but not seen any, so far.
I've got a couple on my buddleia, together with commas, red admiral, small tortoiseshell, large and small white and about a dozen peacocks. Great year for butterflies!

I've got a similar selection, roo, but not in those numbers. I can add gatekeeper and speckled wood to my list.
I went on a moth watch in my local park last year. Where there are about 70 species of butterflies in this country, there are about 2,500 moths!
Just got back from walking doggie, they are everywhere, it's fabulous. I have even more on my buddleia now as well.
Oh and I also have peacocks, red admirals and big fat bumble bees on my buddleia as well. The most I have seen in a long time ..
I saw one yesterday.
Pleased to see the garden tigers are back again, this year.
I had one on my buddleia a few days ago and had to let one out of the house last night. My buddleia also attracts peacock, red admiral, small tortoiseshell, plus the occasional orange tip. My daughter spotted a hummingbird hawk moth in the garden a few days ago.
I'm glad some of you have them because this is the least butterflies I've ever seen in any year on my buddleias. The odd Peacock and Red Admiral but no Painted Ladies and nothing else either. Lots of bees mind you.
I saw three together on buddleia with a peacock and a hummingbird hawk yesterday
