I have a lot of old jars from a lab they were shutting at the Uni about 30 years ago. Most are plain or in the case of the large ones, 2 Pt. There's one which has B.L.B. etched on it. Do any of you know what it stands for please. If it helps, it came from either Plant Biology or Soil Science lab. More likely Plant Biology.

Thanks.

Bacterial leaf blight.

Definitely?

Thank you.
I'd beg to differ over this. Although bacterial leaf blight fits the bill purely as an acronym, it's not sufficiently specific for a university standard laboratory specimen. There are quite a few organisms that cause bacterial leaf blight.
I'm inclined to think the jar once contained a specimen that succumbed to botrytis leaf blight.
