Thankyou both! I had clamp but Danword gave me clasp when I checked. So I am going with CLAMP.
Description A clamp is a fastening device used to hold or secure objects tightly together to prevent movement or separation through the application of inward pressure. Wikipedia

Thank you fozzies that was my thought so I have asked Danword to check their answer which they specifically gave out for this clue !
Danword is not always correct.
How do you think Danword works? Does someone sit there typing out every clue and solution? What is in it for them?
"What is in it for them?"

Dunno - seems like a lot of work!. My mate runs a weather report/forecast website & makes a decent income from people clicking on the adverts there. I sometimes use crosswordsolver.org before going for an out-and-out answer on Danword etc.
