How do we feel about this little girl's extravagant Prom night. I'm all for treating your kids and even spoiling them a bit but I wonder if this sets people up for unrealistic expectations later on, because in my experience the world doesn't treat divas kindly.
I'm also concerned that this has been accomplished off the back of the other sister who had forgone her Prom- wouldn't it have been nicer to treat her to something very nice instead? Any thoughts?

Fuss over nothing...at our village school it's not the best dress that counts ..its the best helicopter!
Will no one look at that child and see she is 11 years old. There are mean and nasty posts re a young child on this post .
^ i hope we're talking sycamore seeds
How can it be the fault of an 11 year old, Anne? She is a child! Parents are responsible for what they teach her.
anne.....yes, a good point, but we have all looked at that child read the reports about that child and we have come to conclusions based on our readings.....some neutral, some non complimentary, but all considered opinions.
What is your point Anne?
Pixie, where did I say there is any fault anywhere. .?
Must admit..that garden needs some 'Garden SOS'.
You didn't, but you are reading the posts as if it is nasty towards a child. Which makes no sense at all, unless you think the child is to blame?
i give up. I wish the parents could view this discussion, but certainly not the child .
Obviously, yes. It is about the parents...
Its a sad fact that if parents use their child, to gain attention themselves, and that's what this is all about, and its been done many times with children, then I'm afraid they must be prepared to take the crap that may follow. Its seems on here its the child that's taking the hits, for what ever reason you see fit, ( not the parents, as it should be) it would not have been the child who contacted the mail.
