OH likes making bread sometimes with a bread making machine.
He bought the wrong mix, it was for focaccia bread. It did give instructions how to do it in a machine. It did involve adding oil at two different stages.
Well it rose spectacularly. It looked like it was trying to escape. Then smoke started to come from the machine. It was quite scary. He opened the lid and it had spread everywhere. He removed an awful lot of breadmix from all over the place. Set it going again as it still had an hour to go. When it was done it looked ok and it tasted quite good. But he will not be using that mix again. It took such a long time to clean the machine there was a bit of language about.

The instructions doesn't seem to match your bread maker model then.
Ah well; live & learn
been there, done that, used the t shirt to clean the burnt bread off EVERYTHING!
Infused to make bread when I was made redundant in 1981. Used a Kenwood with a dough hook.
Got quite good at it.
Was able to control texture and density.
Dense bread and strawberry jam was a meal. Helped spread my Dole money.
