We pay very dearly for our association with the EU. Be realistic. Since we buy far more from them than they buy from us, they are not going to refuse to trade with us. That really is nonsense!

I have not seen her being quoted as saying she wants to extend the date, do you have a link ? What I have seen is that she said she would be prepared to (would support it ?) if that was likely to solve the UK's position and the UK wanted to and the UK had a proposal justifying going through it. Also, there has never, that I have come across (except on AB), anything suggesting the EU ever remotely intimated that they would not continue to trade with the UK - how is however the issue, with or without a deal. The EU is no more afraid of the UK than the UK is afraid of the EU when it comes to anything.

Of course, but there again I expected more honour from the parliament on other dates to: what were they, March 29 and May 25 ? (I should've made a note. All getting too much.) Anyway there's more chance this time. A remainer isn't likely to be in charge, and will be well aware how heightened tension now is after all the previous wimping out.
