I certainly recognise that speech. It sounds very similar to a highly praised speech attributed to Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard. This speech was denied and snopes said it was a HOAX. It went viral. It is strange no one turned a hair when it was circulated but then it wasn't attributed to POTUS was it? //: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT....

"Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."

Unlike 3 out of the four people Trump attacked, who were born in the USA (and are in fact congresswomen!), Trump's wife Melania is an immigrant. Heaven forbid she should ever disagree with him and be told to "Go back home".

Trump himself was born to his Scottish mother only 12 miles from the birthplace of one of these four women.

The tweets are so obviously racist it's a waste of breath to debate. Best headline: "Trump denies racist tweets were racist"
The accusation of racism is impugning Trump's moral character. Back to which later.

So, a couple of points

Firstly, if you know anything about Trump you must realise that that particular accusation is implausible ("Celebrity Apprentice", anybody?).

Secondly, moral character. If you know anything about "The Squad" you might care to question their racism and, indeed, their love of the country they're lucky enough to be citizens of. Question how? Well, you can listen to what they say (about Jews, 9/11 et cetera), and you can draw inferences about their plans for America from their stated policies (commitment to open borders, destruction of the oil indiustry and so on).
Ellipsis (whom I love dearly) doesn't connect the dots as often as he should to ensure his intellectual well-being: please understand the difference between racism and rhetoric, Ellipsis.
Better yet: please understand the difference between racism and rhetoric, Trump.

/// He goes to all the trouble of typing out a misogynist racist nasty bullying tweet, and it's simply skated right over your mind. ///

You are playing a full deck on this are you not?

Among your other snipes at the President, you have now added two more, which just like the racist card are void and incorrect.

Bully:
seek to harm, intimidate, or coerce (someone perceived as vulnerable).

These women are not vulnerable at all, they are thick skinned politicians.

misogynist:
a person who dislikes, despises, or is strongly prejudiced against women.

I don't think that you can say Trump dislikes or despises women, as for being prejudiced against women, if it had been a group of males who had said the same things he would have attacked them in just the same way.
Retrocop, on reflection, I think my post about your 'self obsession' was uncalled for and I would wish to withdraw it and apologize.
// he wasn't necessarily wrong, OG. He claimed that their own countries were broken and crime infested.//

/// to you making a sustained personal attack on me personally, which is not appropriate anywhere. ///

If you are so touchy on people making personal attacks on yourself. then perhaps you should curb your personal attacks on the President of the United States.

At least those who do attack you personally don't find the need to add the horrible vitriol that you use against President Trump.
I wonder if the republicans who voted against the notion yesterday will look back with shame in the future in what they did. And whether some of them are now quietly cursing their leader for forcing their hand.
Linsey Graham has certainly changed his tune: there must be an election in the offing :-)
Just as here there are cabinet posts to be had ..
Motion not notion :-)

Thank you.
I`d be interested to read their comments that set him off nobody seems to have published those. There are always two sides to a story
This has been brewing for a while C@C. The "main stream" press has only jumped on it because Trump has said what a lot of America is feeling. It only came to a head when the 4 "progressives"(that is what they called themselves) called Pelosi a racist for disagreeing with what they were saying and advocating. Pelosi is the American version of our speaker of the house and took them to task for certain views and statements in recent weeks, not least their assertion that Trump was making illegal immigrants "drink water from toilets", whilst blocking the border funding bill. Pelosi and the 4 progressives are of course all far left Democrats. This has also of course caused meltdown in luvvie America, much to the delight of the non luvvie right wing Republicans, and consternation in the left wing press who feel it their mission to try to drag Trump into the "mire" that the lefties have generated. Trump actually went to the defence of Pelosi, who is naturally critical of him and is a Clinton placement in the Senate.
//President Trump responded to questions from reporters, this time dishing out more specific criticism directed at Omar and Ocasio-Cortez.
“Somebody that comes from Somalia, which is a failed government, a failed state, who left Somalia and ultimately came here and now is a congresswoman, is never happy,” said the president. “[She] says horrible things about Israel, hates Israel, hates Jews, hates Jews, it’s very simple.”
The president also seemingly referenced how Omar once joked about how one of her professors would say “Al-Qaeda” in a serious tone. He also recounted how the Minnesota Democrat downplayed the September 11th, 2001, terror attacks during a speech before CAIR earlier this year.
President Trump then turned his attention to Ocasio-Cortez’s fierce opposition to recent plans by Amazon to build an expansive corporate campus in New York City.
“If the Democrats want to wrap their bows around this group of four people — one of them kept Amazon out of New York, tens of thousands of jobs. Would have been a great thing and she kept Amazon from going,” the president said. “Tens of thousands of jobs and New York has not been the same since that happened.”
President Trump’s comments come after he re-upped on his criticisms of the “squad” Sunday evening, stating it was “sad” that Democrats rushed to the defense of the far-left congresswomen who frequently disparage the U.S.
“So sad to see the Democrats sticking up for people who speak so badly of our Country and who, in addition, hate Israel with a true and unbridled passion. Whenever confronted, they call their adversaries, including Nancy Pelosi, ‘RACIST,’” the president wrote on Twitter.
“Their disgusting language and the many terrible things they say about the United States must not be allowed to go unchallenged,” he added.//

Is antisemitism now the new mantra and guiding passion for the left wing zealots in America just as it is here in Europe, and certainly Britain? Who is driving this rise in antisemitism? Russia? They have certainly been forging alliances with the Muslim rulers and the Marxist ethos was always anti Jewish.
Not racist, just repeating a well worn American phrase.
Of course the big Fart is racist otherwise he would not have said shat he did. Had they said anything was wrong with their country apart from criticising the present POTUS.
As far as I can make out he only told them that they were free to leave if they didn't approve of how America is governed. How bad is that? There are Countries that will no allow citizens to leave, no matter how fervently that they disagree with the regimes. Bet you can't think of one. Haha.
You see...….being a free Country not only means that you are free to come, but also free to leave. Oops racist comment.
Lady Janine - so he's supposed to just sit back and just take criticism then ?? Not his way and I'm glad about that.
