Same thing would almost certainly happen here. The needs of the child are said to be paramount but all too often the needs of feckless parents to have possession of their "kids" trump that.
I find it sad that in this 'modern age' that there are still people out there who are so cruel to their own offspring.
Some children are doomed from the time that they are born - they haven't got a chance and probably end up in prison or dead well before their time.
I don't know the solution and I don't know about this case to even guess what the social services thought they were doing.
I have no children which is just as well as I am not responsible or mentally well enough to cope. But some people seem to see that it is their right to have children.
Why are people comparing this sort of bad to bad and tugging back and forth regarding which is worse. Is it resignation that this is inevitable in both UK and USA ?
It's inevitable in both the UK and US, imo, as it is always about fairness for the parents, even though the child's needs are supposed to come first, that never happens.
"..there have also been cases where children have been forcibly removed when clearly they haven't". Not sure I follow that, YoungMa.
The Family Court in this country make some strange decisions and are blinded to the truth at times.
