My friend lives on her own in a one bed flat. A year ago she was paying £18 a month for incoming and out going water. She started putting an egg timer on for her showers. Then when showering she put the plug in the bath so giving her feet a good 'soak'. She puts the shower water in a bucket and uses it to flush the toilet. She is now paying £9 a month for her water. I'm going to try this.

Would you try this to save money ?
Saving £108 a year, Not bad!
If she stopped showering she could save even more.

Yes excellent
Think I'd prefer to pay £9 to avoid adding the hassle to my life.

So if the timer runs out and she's not finished does she get out half washed ? Which half ?
How does she get the water out of the shower?
With a bucket. Hope it doesn't get too stagnant.
HC, her shower is over her bath. I guess she scoops the water out with the bucket.

No, I definitely wouldn't do it. Firstly I couldn't be bothered and secondly I'd hate to have buckets of water standing around to flush the toilet with. That must look awful in her bathroom.
i'd spend the nine pounds i saved on beer, which is ... virtually ... water

I’d do it if I was broke but not otherwise.
Well done your friend Tamaris. Too much water gets wasted.
