Evening all,
I have a friend arriving from Manchester soon and she wishes to come see us at home, we live near Heathrow Airport. Rather than queue up for tickets, I was thinking of sending her an oyster card to the value of £15 - do you know if this would cover the cost of the journey from Kings Cross to Hatton Cross and return ? (She will walk the short distance from Euston to Kings Cross.
Many thanks folks

P.S. I have tried looking at the TFL website but can't make head nor tail of it !! - must be old age thing !

Oyster cards are rapidly becoming redundant, as most people simply use contactless debit cards instead. So your friend could do that (and you could use the money you've saved to buy her a little gift).

The single fare between Kings Cross and Hatton Cross (or vice versa) is £5.90 at any time if paying by cash. When using either an Oyster card or a contactless debit card, it's £4.70 on Monday to Friday from 0630 to 0930 and between 1600 and 1900. At all other times it's £3.10.

Not sure how old your friend is, but if they have a bus pass this can be used on London buses, unfortunately not on the underground
