If the match can't be finished tomorrow, India will go through to the final because they finished higher in the round-robin table: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/icc-world-cup/icc-world-cup-what-happens-if-semis-or-final-is-washed-out/articleshow/70139466.cms

They will try to finish tomorrow
There's a spare day tomorrow built into the competition's calendar, specifically for the purpose of coping with a rain-affected semi-final, so the game can continue then.

Thanks Buenchico.
So if it rains on Thursday and Friday, then Australia will go through to the final.
That doesn't seem fair.

I agree Squad. They should just wait until there is a rain free day. I suppose they can't because of TV etc. It seems very unfair!
Perfectly fair if rain rules out any play. Australia finished above England in the round robin table and won their head-to-head fixture.
Let's hope the rain stays away. Forecast has some possibly some rain at Edgbaston on Thursday but Friday looks ok.

They can’t postpone the tournament indefinitely because of bad weather.
Australia and N Zealand finished ahead of their respective opponents over 45 games. Arguably that’s actually fairer.
Anyway, the forecast would suggest the weather will hold over at last some of the next three days
Australia and India sorry
Fibonacci....so if the semi's and finals are ruined off......it's curtains for the underdog? LOL.
Still not fair, but I cannot think of a better system.
India-NZ match was rained off in the first round too, so no head-to-head result to go by. But India finished higher on points. I expect them to win tomorrow anyway, weather permitting.
Forecast fair. Don’t worry.
some rain early afternoon, depending which forecast you look at.
