Do you have a doorbell and if so what tune does it play? Dave has finally got around to fitting our front door bell. God knows why because we can’t open our front door...but I asked him to select a simple sound. I don’t like bells that play ten minutes of a song.....except at Christmas when our last one played Jingle Bells.

We now have a repetitive ding dong that unfortunately sounds like the Avon Lady on Speed..... :-(

Yours?....x

Mine is a harsh buzzer. I t think I would prefer your ding dongs!!
Mine was here when I moved in 40 years ago, and over the years has gone from a simple 'dringg; to sounding like a parrot being throttled.
How will you know when it really is the Avon lady?

Ding dong. It's wired up to the fuse box and has a mind of it's own so I turned it off.
Queen -Hammer to fall... generic ring-tone, on my iphone.. I unlock the door and expected guests know to just come in.

I have an aggressive buzzer which I disconnected ages ago due to kids buzzing it all the time, not that I ever played knock-a-door-run as a kid... Honest
Westminster Chimes.

Neither did I, Arky......I used to visit flats in Corby where the front doors faced each other. I never tied the handles of the letter boxes to each other and then rang the door bells and scarpered.......honest... ;-)
Its lovely to reminisce with a fellow Angel.
I have mine set to a boring ding dong at the moment. When it is grandchildren's birthdays I have "Happy Birthday to You" and at Christmas I have Jingle Bells.

I wonder if you can ‘hack’ doorbells which have multiple chimes ...

That’s made me smile, Ael.......I can imagine the frustration... :-)

Have a BA, agchristie.......you have reminded me of my very up herself neighbour. We never had a door bell on our last house. Neighbour knocked on the door one day.....a rather cross knocking....
When I opened the door she complained about the lack of a door bell.....didn’t I know how common it was to have to knock on a door?! .... :-)
I used to have a good doorbell - it was this one.

These days I have no bell and tend to ignore the door unless expecting a visitor.
Mine played ‘What Shall We Do with the Drunken Sailor?’ for a while. Then it changed itself to some opera thing. Now it’s just the classic ding dong. Thankfully. It was getting a bit embarrassing.
Gness, that's hilarious!

Oh and thanks for BA! ;-)
