Fair point jno. There were indeed a record number of visa applications, ostensibly, to attend the matches. Flights have been paid for and made(80,000 was a rough estimate). No figures yet for the return flight bookings. I see that Al Jazeera is calling the Pakistani supporters the "stani" army whilst the Indians style themselves the Bharat army.

It goes to further highlight that my thread is a debatable subject, (71 postings to date) ignoring the usual anti-AOG brigades usual accusations of racism, if one dares to approach certain matters.

I read a letter in the Daily Mail a couple of days ago when in non English/British Foreign climes.
The correspondent( with an Anglo Saxon type name) commented that Indian and Pakistani cricket fans shared the same unsegregated stand,waving their national flags and cheering on their countries teams.
Now,imo,that would be a joy to behold and worthy of comment.

For your information I understand perfectly what the term means since it is not I who constantly uses the word in incorrectly, when they infer or directly accuse others of racism.
So perhaps you would be better employed teaching those others the true meaning of the word, since it is them who bander the word around freely in their quest to stifle true debate on sensitive subjects, that happen to criticise mass uncontrolled immigration, ethnic minorities or a certain religion.

As I have already said their are far too many who play the race card when one dares to criticise the minorities, even when applied to Muslims/Islam who are not a race, which makes others ask the question 'what is really racism and what is not'?
