My Arris'.
About to be put on Universal credit (after working part time)
What a con! Should just about afford my rent and (possibly) my council tax but will have nothing left to live on.
Working for the FoodBank but will have to trust to it to feed me. And the bills can go out of the window. Hav'nt got anything left. nothing for internet, gas, electric, water, phone, etc.

Before anyone condemms me, Please tell me how I am supposed to make a living!
I want to work (obviously) but am getting penalised for doing so.
(but I would like to eat food as well and pay my bills such as having a roof over my head)

Here you are Nailit:

///Painting & Decorating pays more surely & cash! You could be self-employed & stay in council property until you buy it & sell at a good profit. My window cleaner did same - no reason you can't. Entrepreneur is you?///

Good luck with your endeavours.

Thanks for suggestion woof :-)
My traveling time to and from work is 2 hours. Not a problem for me.
Wouldn't care if it was 4 hours, I love my job!
£18 p/w might not sound a lot to some but its a wedge out of ur pocket when ur struggling.
Possibility that I could get some bus vouchers if I was THAT hard up from my work. As I said, I work with an amazing bunch of people who all give and take to help each other.

As I replied to ummmm earlier tho, P&D is no longer an option for me (at least not long term)
Why do you talk about looking for another job, Nails?
Can to Food Bank not offer you more hours?

No Tills, The project manager went out of her way to get funding to pay me for what started as a voluntary position as it is....
My work was never meant to be a paid job.
(Think that the manager has a soft spot for me, lol)
you got the gist of my post. You dont need crbs when self employed. Painting & decorating is always in demand & if you hate the work you can sub out the jobs. Good luck whatever you choose.
