18d.Monaural
13a. Butt(er)
any more letters for 8a ?
Question Author
8a. Taxier of sporty boys in America (6,3) ?A?C?R / ?O?
John, are you sure of taxier?
Question Author
Yes definitely TAXIER
8a. Taxier of sporty boys in America (6,3) ?A?C?R / ?O?
As I previously explained, I originally had CAMPER VAN but discounted it as 6d puts O in VAN.
Also since then 4d SCRIBBLE puts the letter C in the first word.
A bit baffled her
Can't find taxier in any dictionary.Does it mean one who taxies planes?
Are you sure of the A? It could be soccer mom
Question Author
I suspect a taxier is someone who drives, taxi's or ferries anyone or anything around.

Do you agree with my 6d answer as NONCE
6d. Time being not church of England (5) ...C. (I have NONCE)
Danny I think Taxier is just a term for someone who ferried kids from place to place. Not slang but a made up word.
Well done Cashier.

Nonce is right.

SOCCER MOM is perfect
