//Labour officials are looking at proposals for a "horrifying" tax of homeowners on the increase in the value of their houses.

A report commissioned by the party and uploaded to their website this month recommends that applying capital gains tax to primary homes would help tackle "wealth inequality".

The report also proposed a shake-up of council tax which could slap extra taxed onto Brits with bigger gardens.//

According to the report //Anyone selling their only home could be made to pay tens of thousands of pounds more, in a move which could paralyse the housing market. The move would hit homeowners who want to move by tens of thousands of pounds, and could mean moving to a larger house impossible.//

…. not to mention the adverse effect such a plan would have on their children’s legacy. Labour voters – be careful what you vote for!

The 'warmonger' isn't looking so bad now eh?

Looking forward to footage of striking sorts around a brazier, brandishing badly lettered signs and shouting something incomprehensible.
The money for their spending has to come from somewhere, and it's never 'the rich'.

It's always normal working people, and borrowing.
I noticed in the report another idea is for homeowners to own only the building, and not the land, whose ownership will be vested in some sort of "peoples trust", with homeowners paying a ground rent.

a sort of nationalised leasehold arrangement. designed to make homes more affordable - but given the way British society operates, will it work?
This report, like many others, are simply reports. Corbyn wouldn't dare.
well, they'll need a lot of other peoples money to fund their plans for ruination of the nation. No doubt they have concluded that most home owners are Tories and when you rob Peter to pay Paul you can always rely on support from Paul.
It wont come from the Rich, they would leg it the minute he came to power.

This report really has not thought it through, but then lefties never do.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

George Monbiot is one of the authors of the report - that should tell everyone all they need to know.
Another way to make themselves even less electable.
This man actually makes my blood run cold - he's a prat of the first order !! I can't imagine every voting Labour again ..
Me neither, not in a general election anyway and I'm considering not to vote Labour in any council elections which is a shame because our local one is a very good councillor. I've been a Labour voter ,apart from a short dalliance with the Lib Dems, ever since I was allowed the vote back in the year dot.Corbyn and his comrades are killing the Labour party.I wish they would get rid of him.
I like Jezza he's the Tory's best asset.

We have several friends who have always voted Labour - their old dads did too you know - and they say the same. They, as former party members, assure me that many others are thinking likewise.
A lot of left wingers I know were over the moon when Corbyn became labour leader. That honeymoon period is over, with his position on Brexit (whatever that was) being largely to blame.

Concidentally, Glastonbury is on this weekend. I doubt he'd be greeted with the same adulation as he was last time he turned up there. More likely booed off stage.
