I was told today that it is ok to take two paracetamol and two ibuprofen at the same time for bad pain, since I get pain in my joints I would be tempted to try this, but I don't trust the information, has anyone else heard this please?

Many thanks, will give it a go when things get bad.
Mr T take two of both when his gout plays up. No problems encountered with it at all.
I've taken both together when in severe pain. The pharmacist told me it's better to take two paracetamol, wait two hours and take two ibuprofen, wait two hours take two paracetamol and repeat. She said then you're covered and the pain doesn't begin to creep back at the end of four hours.
Yes that's fine, you may also consider staggering them by taking the alternately every two hours to minimise breakthrough pain.
