Men at work was 83. I remember all the Brosettes every where in 88 following on from frankie and wham t-shirt craze. Plenty of VW owners miffed at a band called the Beastie Boys.
Yes, there was some SAW dross. But some good stuff too. Billy ocean, salt n peppa, Robert Palmer, fleetwood mac.....

1988 was the year that brought us the debut of Milli Vanilli, the group who later became (in)famous for not singing on their own debut album...

much later they appeared on "wogan" to redeem themselves and in speaking of that time, in their broken and hesitant English, described their manager using the "W" word on live TV. the look of horror on Terry Wogan's face was pure class.
Mr Cooke's daughter did a sterling job - as usual.
Can't stand that Teardrops song. Love this, though:

^ so do I.
I think Martika's album of '88 is great!

Tracy Chapman. Love that voice, love that song.

Carol Decker. Can't stand red-heads. I lie, I loved Delyth James, I loved Yvonne Raiment. And I still love Ms Decker.

Who's Martika?

Meanwhile I forgot to record Young Singer of the Year comp from Cardiff. Wonder if Mikey is up there, or somewhere, listening to it.
