heres an idea what if everybody just stopped paying for the tv licence on the day that the bbc stop giving pensioners free licences
we would all get a reminder and then another reminder then a threatening letter
after that we all decide to start paying by cash weekly at a post office
perhaps they might have a rethink ?/
any thoughts ?

this mass protest could have Gary Lineker worried about his £1.75 million a year pay packet ...

I don't like the licence fee in its present form, partly because the honest are subsidisng the evaders and partly because, despite some excellent output, the BBC seems to waste quite a lot of our money. I also don't see much of a case for free licences for the over 75s (other than some politicians have floated the again); but as far as I'm aware there are no plans to abolish it-just to effectively make the BBC pay for it.
As to your question- do you mean everyone? If so, what would that achieve?
I'm a pensioner. Not one that qualifies for a free licence though. The licencing body hounded me for 2 months, to pay my fee, when I'd already paid. I threatened to sue them for harrassment but the threatening letters kept coming, eventually turning into a court summons. A member of staff at my bank phoned them to provide proof that I'd paid 2 months before. Eventually they accepted that I'd paid and blamed me for not speaking clearly enough on the auto payment line. I pointed out that the money immediately went from my account into theirs, so it must have been clear enough to understand that. Also why did my bank have a record of them receiving payment, but they (Licencing) didn't? I eventually recieved my licence with no apology or explanation from them. T 0 $ $ E R S!
Scrap the broadcast tax and be done with it.

The real BBC died many years ago, we're funding an ego trip for foppish inadequates and bimbettes.

If losing Pop Master and Johnnie Walker on a Sunday is the price to pay then so be it.
No thanks I don’t mind paying my license fee and I think it should be means tested for pensioners
Clarion. that reminds me of my experience when i returned to the UK as an expat of 20 yrs.
I applied for a free T.V licence, sent my passport, copy of bank statement and my N.I number. They were all returned with thanks and i thought how efficient good old UK was compared to Spain.
Months on , several telephone calls and communications I received a letter say that legal action will be taken against me and I replied then do so.
After another 6 weeks, i received my freeTV licence with no explanation or apologies.
Efficient,well mannerd UK .
if they stopped paying the celebrities such ridiculous wages they could afford to let pensioners have free licences .
a) there would be little take up for such inconvenience and b) as long as during the year the money came in, the BBC would not give a fig.
Goof idea johnny, but sadly never gonna happen ..
^^ 'Good'
Squad, I wouldn't be surprised by anything with the TV Licencing Agency. They're useless.
Traipsing down to the PO every week and standing in a queue I don't think so. Just making it difficult for me, not them.
I don't blame the BBC. I blame Cameron and Osborne.

They weren't prepared to take the flack for cancelling the free licences. Instead at charter renewal time they forced the BBC to take responsibility despite knowing it was unaffordable.
