MI5 ought not be above the law, but the law should allow that which is reasonable in order to protect the realm; and no more: for we don't need a future government (or other with access to the data) oppressing the people. The question is, how anyone is to manage that.

Spath, to the elderly and vulnerable in particular, some of the effects you mention are extremely major rather than very minor.

In the grand scale of things, cold calls are quite minor. But yes, to some they are quite serious.
//Well really.. they should be heavily fined for abusing data//
How do you think that would be paid for?
Question Author
That's neither my problem, nor incentive to find out.

GDPR laws on data protection are clear, and so are the consequences if you don't commit to them.

IF the GDPR legislation doesn't affect MI5, then it's up to government officials to decide what steps to take.

Well come one spit out the answer, you made the statement perhaps you should justify it.
Question Author
"they should be heavily fined"

Is my statement. How they pay for it is moot. I don't have to justify anything i don't want to.
Question Author
Asking me how much they should be fined, would be relevant, kind of. How they pay for it is none of my business. How do they pay for anything?
Oh but to make such a statement which will obviously raise questions you must be able to answer it, No?
At least that is what you where telling me the other day when advising me to 'spit out' an answer to you!
Question Author
You said "i think they look the same age" asking, oh, what age would that be, is perfectly fine.

BTW, the robber was 33... NOT the same age.

Grow up RR. Try put ur brain in gear.
Shall I tell you how they would pay for it?

It would have to come out of the security budget that is provided by the government that is used to stop security attacks.
So with less money less investigation will be done and more attacks will happen - but still if your happy with that - as long as your privacy is safe!
Stop trolling spath
Question Author
"as long as your privacy is safe!"

No, this isn't on me.. This is on MI5. If they need every penny for their operations, they shouldn't waste money by breaking laws and potentially being fined.

Cry troll all you want, you're just embarrassing yourself further.
Don't worry pet I don't embarrass at all - especially dealing with you, I am used to people behaving far worse than you
Question Author
My behaviour is fine. Maybe consider if you find hostility.. it isn't always 100% the other persons fault.
