I was chatting to three guys yesterday that work for the same shop, all three said their hours had been cut, no sooner that the minimum wage went up this year. All three of them already work short hours, so what's the point of the minimum wage being set in the first place, I can't see one.

SPICERACK, if there are myriad obstacles in the road, would there not also be myriad (possibly different) obstacles preventing full-time employment with any employer?

No unions at the type of places that I was posting about, 237SJ.
Most of the big places which were good places to work for have gone in my neck of the woods, theres only the likes of Jaguar - Landrover left and you have more chance of the pope getting married than getting a job there ( they are laying workers off ).
JLR will probably be a subsidiary of Peugeot Citroen before too long.
PSA who used to own all of french car manufacturers will have to decide, but now Nissan own a bit aswell
