48 Castle - chess term
36 zoo - full title should be zoological gardens ?
how does castle fit the clue?
For aelmpvw - In chess castling involves moving the king and rook two squares each providing there is nothing in between and the king does not pass through check. Chess is played on a board.
ps ^^ the king can normally only move one square at a time
i realised it was a chess connection but i still find the clue ambiguous

Thanks petland. Can you tell me how you got zoo for number 36?
It is only a guess but the clue seems to suggest lobbing off everything after zoo in zoological. - log 1 cal (orie) but that leaves a "0". Perhaps a physics expert can explain.
