Caught one of my favourite films a couple of nights ago - Brian De Palma's The Fury.

It was released in 1978, and starred Kirk Douglas, and the first Mrs Spielberg, Amy Irving, who played a teenager very convincingly ,even though she was twenty-five!

I loved all the fabulous use of film techniques to enhance and drive the story, and another of John Williams' epic scores.

Check out the scene where Gillian escapes, then play it again and notice that the entire slow-motion scene comes with no sound whatsoever, just the soundtrack accompanying the images, it's breathtaking.

Anyone else see it / like it?

I've seen it 5 or 6 times, and John Williams certainly deserves a mention. I've been listening to that soundtrack album since the film came out in the late 70's. I couldn't watch it on TV with all those ad breaks, though. Luckily I have it on DVD. But I can still never quite get used to that hard "G" in "Gillian".

I must have seen it about the same number of times - my best friend and I saw it at our local film theatre, we had a massive crush on Amy Irving, I never realised that she was older than me!!!

I have absolutely no idea - music is my area, not film, maybe an AB film buff can help you out.
