Had to attend A&E with my mum today. Thankfully turned out not to be anything (too) serious or cancer related.
However...It seemed to be one thing after another for the few hours that we were up there.
Saw the Air Ambulance arrive (never seen it in close up b4) almost immediately followed by an alarm and staff rushing out to a car that had just pulled up and wheeling someone in on a trolley. Whilst there, there were police dealing with a person that obviously had mental health issues along with (from what I could gather) a social worker. And on it went!

Ive been the first to pick fault with the NHS. in the past.
But for all its failings, I hope to God that its never privatised/monetized.

Absolutely......we are very lucky to have it and the people that work so hard to help us. I couldn't do any of the jobs to be found in the NHS....very special people.
We are so lucky. I hope to god it's not taken away from us. A real treasure.
I can’t fault the NHS here in Scotland nailit,
My wife’s treatment for her cancer was excellent
From the surgeon to the nurses
I agree. The people working in the NHS are mostly faultless. The organisation of it needs looking at and improving. So much wastage of time and resources.
I have always been lucky with our hospital. The staff are brilliant, pity about the overpaid management though.
I watch all the documentaries and each time i watch one, i can't help but be in awe of their understanding of an injured/ill person's apprehension, their patience with awkward 'customers', their respect when dealing with the aged, their genuine concern for their patients and their total professionalism. They don't earn big money for what they do so they must do it for the love of the job and the satisfaction they get from saving lives and generally helping the unfortunate. I echo your sentiments, nailit.
Most of my experiences with the nhs have been good.

When I was taken ill my partner phoned 111 and he's was still on the phone to them when the ambulance arrived. Within 20 minutes I was on a ward, on a drip and pumped full of painkillers
Regardless if you've had a good or bad experience with the NHS, the system is good. Certain staff, hospitals or attitudes may let it down, but as a national health care system, it is amazing. Yes lets hope it is never privatised or monetised.
