You know when you type a document - instead of getting words like the previous words I am stating.

You were able to "insert something"

and it looked like this

You.know.when. - now it could be a curser but I want it between my words. Thanks for help

sorry for confusion - when you are on abi-word or microsoft word - I want the dots to be between every single spacing

something like this s.o.m.e.t.h.i.n.g..t.h.i.s..o.r..t.h.a.t it was a thing I used in my job - we had to proof read and make sure the spacing was even.
Just curious as to why you want to do that, JJ. It's tedious to read because your eyes stop at all the dots instead of scanning and reading the whole word.
Why not just use the justify option?

that's ok Trudy - I have been asked to do a small bit of proof reading and that cursor helps. My mind has gone blank but will ask the local kids. they'll know
Who's Trudy?
Question Author
LOL - gotta get off this - I'll not be able to proof read properly.

on the home tab in word there is a symbol that looksa bit like a bacwards filled in P - shows formatting. Is that it?
In a word document, select the 'Home' tab and then click on the symbol that looks like the letter 'P' but is facing the wrong way.
Sorry bednobs, didn't see you there.
