Hi all,

I got another refurbished laptop using Windows 10.

I've had no problems with it until this morning, when my WiFi has disappeared.

I use my phone as a WiFi connection. I know there is nothing wrong there because I'm using it now on my Windows 7 laptop.

I tried running the troubleshooter, and it says something like 'there is no valid IP address'

What's an IP address, and how do I solve the problem ?

Thanks in advance.

IP is internet provider.
Turn your computer off and your phone off.

Restart your phone and make sure hotspot is enabled.
Then turn on your PC.

Still the same
You are using your mobile as a hotspot ? Maybe get the laptop to search anew for a Wifi network and put in the passwords etc. as you go ?

Cracked it at last.

I listed all the network connections, and near the bottom of the list, I clicked on 'Network and Internet settings'. This took me to a page where there was a button allowing me to reset all connections. I restarted my laptop and the internet is back.

Thanks all for your help.
