It is a long stranding scam.Call blocking doesn't work because they regularly change their number.I usually put the call on speaker and leave the phone on a table until they ring off. This will add to their expenses.
this is the microsoft internret team and your internet is slow....

does anyone know the optimising option to get them to waste their time? - - I have tried - Oh no !
and o god that is awful !
and they just ring off .....

Look up^^^
Yeah, but they can't see you looking up (unless you're on videophone).
Say "You have been connected to the Israeli embassy, your call means a lot to us, please hold".
Unfortunately you cant say anything as its a recorded message, wish you could, I've got plenty to say to these people, they ring all the time.

If it is a recorded message how do they know if you want their 'service' or not?
As Daisymay says in the OP, the recording asks you to press to make a choice.
The ones I am pestered with are live and from Indian call centres. If I'm in the mood I sometimes have sport with them. :0)
iv been getting them also, and im not with bt lol, you can block the number but as was mentioned, they just change it, using a voip system, i disconnected the phone for a while as it was getting on my nerves..
The way I stop them is not to speak but leave the phone, don't hang up or switch off. That way they can't ring out until you disconnect and can't con anyone else. You very quickly get off their list and your number doesn't get sold on
I just dont answer the phone. Let the answering machine pick it up. If its someone I want to speak to, they start to leave a message and I pick up the phone. The scammers just disconnect as it is a machine. They soon get tired and stop ringing.
The easy way, as advised, is to leave the connection open at your end, they will soon take you off their lists.
Take the Israeli embassy one step further by chatting for a short while before announcing that you're with Mossad, have located their headquarters and are sending a team to keel zem.
