This is absolutely wrong, the poor dog. It should not have been allowed to happen.
I can understand that we all worry about what will happen to our furry family members when we die. My remaining moggie is going to live with my brother.

But unless an animal is really old and/or seriously ill it would be much kinder to allow it to live out its days with a new owner/slave.

Completely wrong... it should only ever be done with the welfare of the animal as the reason.
Absolute proof that what you think is love can be the monsterous emotion of all, poor little dog :( x
"The RSPCA didn't want to comment."

You live long enough you'll see everything.
The selfishness of the human species never ends.
A fuss about nothing.
My grandmother’s two dogs were put down after she died because the family feared they’d pine for her and would suffer.

Not my choice. I was only 5 at the time, but I can understand why they did it. Same for this lady.
I'm gobsmacked! Poor dog :o(
Calico girl completely right.....selfish decision by owner....how cruel is that when the dog could have gone to someone who cared as much and given it love till its time was up....or ...are we all wrong...?
Do we know the age of the dog?
A difficult one....I can see both sides of the coin.

Well out of order imo,
anything happens to us the girls will take on the dogs,
and if they don't want to there is a fund set up to look after them.
I guess the woman wanted to be sure the dog wasn’t unhappy without her. Not so terrible, IMHO.

crikey 10cs, you are nasty piece of work aren't you.
Couldn't the dog be buried in the same plot...after it died naturally? Horrible, selfish owner...and ridiculous that such "wishes" be honoured.
