This appears well OTT. How much is this officer worth tothe Royal Navy in experience,Training and courses etc You don't just pick any old matelot to command and control the fleets largest ship. I suspect he may have put up bigger black than just using the company car. What say you?

An ignominious end of his career. I think that Britannia should waive the rules.

A good one sanmac. Welcome.
It is common knowledge in the armed services that you do not use army/navy/ air force equipment etc for private purposes.Having said that I do think that the punishment was disproportionate.

I thought there may be more than meets the eye in this case.Looks like their High Lords of The Admiralty think their Captain has 'lost it'.
:-( All rather sad.

some kind of breakdown? alcohol abuse? poor bloke.
I can see nothing in that link that makes me think the captain has lost it; I just see the RN protecting him from the hoards that would greet a unique ship docking and waiting for him to leave it.
If he was repeatedly using a Ford Galaxy after multiple warnings not to use it as his own he really does want his head looking at, I mean as someone else said it's not an Aston is it, why not just buy his own if he liked it that much?
Not an Aston indeed but then an Aston's as much use as a chocolate fireguard when a jolly jack tar is getting wardrobes from IKEA. :-)
