Can anyone help me find the title/author/publisher of a short story collection used for 1986 GCSE English Lit exams. It was a paperback, yellow cover with black writing/border pattern. One of the short stories was Patrick O'Brian's Samphire. Would really like to read it again.

Thanks

The Faber Book of Modern Short Stories, later retitled to Modern Short Stories and split into two volumes, was used as a GCE/GCSE text. Volume 1 contains 'Samphire': https://www.amazon.co.uk/Modern-Short-Stories-Jim-Hunter/dp/0571087442

Each examining board will have had its own syllabus (or, possibly, several different syllabuses), with different set texts for each. So it might help to know which examining boardyou're referring to.

However Samphire is here:

PS: GCSEs weren't introduced until 1989. I assume that you mean GCE O-Level.
The Rendezvous and other stories?

Thank you all very much for your answers. It was Modern Short Stories by Faber - Jim Hunter forward. I've found a second hand copy on eBay.
