I am going abroad on holiday. My question is, if I download films from BBC iPlayer to my iPad can I watch them somehow on a tv?
The tv abroad is not a smart tv. Is there a connection on the market to enable this?

You don’t need a smart TV as it will only be acting as a display. You need to know what connectors are on the TV and buy a corresponding cable and adapter to match. There are restrictions with streaming from certain apps to TV screens, but I think that only applies to live TV.
