I don’t care for religion of any kind but tbh there is little cross over with different religions.

There is a common theme. There are parts of each religion that has the same information but they are basically totally different and should not try to be all things to all men.

If you believe the scriptures in your particular holy book then that is what you stick to. To bend it to your whim or the whims of modern sensibilities is not reflective of your chosen religion.

But as it said I don’t care about religion so they can do pretty much as they chose.... baring violence or incitement to violence of course.
According to the link, there will be no prayers in the church, just a meal attended by 'Christians and other faiths' on June 2nd.

We know that, but only because this vicar has been condemned and stopped from opening up her Christian Church to the Muslims.
KEN, prayers in the church had been planned until it was pointed out the C of E Canon Law forbids non-Christian worship in one of their consecrated buildings.

I would have thought a C of E minister should have known that.
No, AOG.She has been stopped from allowing them to hold prayers in the church because, apparently, it isn't allowed. The Muslims and other faiths will still have the meal in the church.
The church has not been stopped from being opened to Muslims.

Only the Islamic prayers will take place outwith it.

I presume that the ladies and men will still eat in separate locations of the church?
You presume a lot AOG.

Through ignorance or knowledge?
//I presume that the ladies and men will still eat in separate locations of the church? //

Most likely - and that is not a presumption.
It appears the separation of the men and women is more of an issue for ANOTHEOLDGIT than the covering of Christian symbols and a picture of Christ.
Perhaps aog is surprised that it isn't being criticised. In any other section of the community it would be.... but this is Islam so that's alright then. Hmmm...
I doubt many Jewish folk would have an issue with the segregation.
" I doubt many Jewish folk would have an issue with the segregation."
Does that make it right?
THECORBYLOON, the issue of segregation here isn't about Muslim folk - or Jewish folk. It's about elements of western society actively condoning it.
NAOMI, you said ANY other section of the community would criticize the segregation. I am not saying I agree with it, merely pointing out it happens in other faiths too.
THECORBYLOON, //NAOMI, you said ANY other section of the community would criticize the segregation. I am not saying I agree with it, merely pointing out it happens //

No, I didn’t say that. I said //[segregation] in any other section of the community it would be [criticised] // …. and immediately we're presented with the Jews. Funny that.
Apologies, you are correct.
//And if it serves to bring just a shred of harmony between communities, is that not a good thing?//

At what price is the “harmony” being sought, though, Ken (if indeed it is at all)? The Christian symbols had to be covered up in a Church of England church. Segregation by gender had to take place in the church.

//I don't see an issue with it, am I missing something?//

I believe you are, RR. Imagine if Christians had been invited to a mosque for a similar coming together. Would their images of whatever they have there be hidden? Would the men and women be allowed to mix? (Answers on a postcard, in the bit where the stamp usually fits).

Muslims don’t do harmony. You are either of the faith or you are a Kafir. There’s nothing in between. Quite why this vicar feels the need to invite Muslims into her parishioners’ church is anybody’s guess. It’s not the Church of England that needs to be “reaching out” to other faiths in England (and absolutely pointlessly in the case of this particular faith, anyway).
NJ //Imagine if Christians had been invited to a mosque//
They frequently are, at least they are in Bradford.
