I had 'miners Benedict' for breakfast and it was surprisingly good. I'm not convinced the eggs are poached in the traditional way and I'm curious as to how they are cooked.

I bring the salted water up to a simmer, slide the egg in, turn the heat off and cover. Toaster on, egg is cooked when toast is buttered :)
Life is too short to poach an egg at home and risk less than 100% success. I prefer an occaisonal Spoons eggs benedict as a breakfast treat. Always perfectly delivered and excellent value. Interesting to know how they acheive that.

That'll do for me!
I can now report, after still celebrating Balders good news and my younger son passing his HGV Class 2 Test first time today. that my local Wethrspoon do indeed use the pre-cooked poached eggs in vacuum pack as described in the link by Spath.
The two ovens in use in the Spoons Kitchen is (a) a MerryChef which is a type of convecter microwave and (b) Rationale which was described,by the manger, as a similar oven found in the Bakery Dept of the adjacent Sainsbury but on a smaller scale.
