Just watched the first part. An amazing piece of TV. I'm still sniffling.

One television programme I would recommend.

Brilliant.

I found out that there is a lady who lives locally who has set up a dementia singing group.

It sounds like a great idea. Prior to seeing this video, I had never considered that it would work.

Did you watch the programme, Wolf?
I don't have a TV
Question Author
Oh! I didn't know that. :o)
I saw her in interview about it so had to watch - it was beautiful.

Some wonderful characters.
It was lovely to watch them. It really gave them all a boost. It's wonderful how music can stimulate the brain.

There are, Mamya. The choirmaster is amazing too. Such a lovely man.
Problem is they won't remember where they are or what they are supposed to do next time. Such a shame.

Have you watched the next part, Luci?
Tilly - it is through choice. I actually won a 55" tv just before Xmas and gave it to my brother from Santa.

It's your choice, Wolf and I respect that. I don't watch much T.V. myself. I prefer to watch bird webcams. :-)

However, this programme sparked my interest and I asked Mr T to download it. I have no idea how to do that myself. :-)
The most wonderful programme, Tilly. Made me quite tearful. Even though the people with dementia will forget the family will have lovely memories. That is a rare blessing when you are caring for someone with this disease.
This brought me to tears last night. The young man/ couple who were getting married, when he literally broke down. Singing stimulates the brain it seems. The lady who played the piano again after 10 years .. ‘because something clicked’
I felt for the young couple, Eleena.....and when the music teacher could play the piano again after ten silent years it was so wonderful. X
It highlighted it’s not confined to old people. The one chap was 31 wasn’t he.
