/// The group will monitor BBC to ensure it represents all sections of society ///

He will now be the only white man to sit on their diversity panel, it would seem that it couldn't have been classed as true diverse before.

I've seen him on The Mash Report and thought 'son of TTT' with the geezer buffed out.
Never heard of him, but good luck to him.

/// Plus, a Tory comedian is a minority group. ///

They certainly are Jim, the majority of comedians are Labour.

I don't know why that is, because they are not in the least bit funny.
being a Tory comedian Brexiteer sounds as if it ticks a lot of boxes, though most Brexiters seem to be comedians, and white.

I wonder if you would get away with that if you had said that most remainers seem to be comedians, and black?

Talking about diversity, I am wondering if they go in for this time of thing in African countries?

But then I don't think that they go in for Level Playing Fields, it's just not cricket.
There you go again. Why do you juxtapose people's ideas to mean the opposite of what they wrote? It's meaningless. You might as well write 'I wonder if you'd get away with that if he was a jellyfish who spoke Portuguese'
'I am wondering if they go in for this time of thing in African countries?'

You're the only one, pal.
I wonder if you would get away with that if you had said that most remainers seem to be comedians, and black?

I'm sure someone would have been along to point out that it wasn't true.
I kinda did.
I had no idea who he was so just watched his stand up- and he might be a Tory, he might be white, he might even be a man, but he's not a comedian :/
I think you can self-identify as a comedian, but you need your mum to sign a form.
Andres was right first time. Don't bother brow-beating me, it won't work.
Just to clarify my answer at 12.51 yesterday. I am not against diversity but I don't like it being pushed onto us . Diversity in TV programmes is nothing new but in the past Black and Asian actors were brought in without the fuss and palava that is being made today.
Just take a look at the three main Soaps-- Since the 80s ,Corrie has had at least 18 Black or Asian actors, Eastenders approx the same number and Emmerdale at least 8. There have been actors in these soaps with-- Downs syndrome, deafness, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, actors in wheelchairs. Each of them making a valuable contribution to the programmes.
There have been several other dramas and programmes, too numerous to name ,that have had black actors
I don't think we now need lecturing on diversity least of all have a panel deciding on quotas!
