Dilemma Between Job And Upsc Preparation.

I am pursuing my B.Tech from Computer Science .I am in 4rt year right now and has not been placed yet(trying for it) . I want to prepare for the Civil services examination just after the graduation and want to give 1 year for the preparation, because I really don't want to the private job.And this preparation will only be my first and last chance .But my parents want to have job first and then go for the preparation. So ,my question is should I do the job first or the preparation first?Will after one year gap , is getting job difficult?
