I think, as I said, it's obvious the artist is on the younger side, but I also said it's good and I mean that, her use of colour and style is lovely, perfecting technique will improve with each piece she does, and it's perfectly nice enough to go on my wall as it is, so yes if she's artistically inclined then art college is really good place to start so I think that's...

She has a light touch with the watercolours, I have always painted and I think she is a bit better than I was at 14, trying more styles, and playing around with no pressure is the way forward for now, she needs to find her own style which will come with time. I wish I'd taken up the place I was offered at art college. Deep down I didn't think I was good enough.
Honest opinion? comparable to an average 14 year old with an interest in Art. Nothing outstanding but she's still a child and has a hobby which should be encouraged. Sychophantic gushing by ersatz online buddies helps not a jot.
I think if she is going to art college, she needs to also think about how she is going to make a living. Yes there is talent there but....sorry.....not the creative WOW. The wow may come....or be buried....and god forbid I should ever tell anyone not to follow their dream but she will need to eat and pay the leccy bill as well!
Not to my taste.
It's very competent for a 14 year old. I'd say she was around 4 or 5 years in advance of her age. The fluidity of line in her pencil-work is nice. The subject matter is typical of A level / 1st year at Art College / Uni work.
If she's got an eye on using her talents to earn her a living, unless she develops an outstanding style / technique, she'll struggle. On the other hand, if she wants to apply her talents in a recognised Commercial Art field such as Graphics / Product Design / Interior Design / Website Design, she could do OK. She'll need computer skills in these areas but school / College / Uni will help here. Good luck to her.
The first thing that came to my mind was drought.
The image in the first link is clearly a portrait of the artist's mother.

Same level of 'artistry' as my niece at around 14. Now 16 and on a Foundation Course.
her namesake O'Keeffe, right?

She's done it well. (The other one's too dark for me to see properly.)

Yes, she's done it well. Art school may very well be worth a trial.
