hi there you techno gurus:

i was just wondering, is there anyway in which you can delete your previous searches that you ahve made in google. At the moment, when I start typing, it predicts what I want by entering previous searches.

The reason I ask is because I have been searching for items I wanted to get mr mimififi for christmas and I don't want him to see the searches. we use the same computer you see and he will question me why was i searching for "Pool tables" online uk"?

cheers in advance.

I don't have the toolbar installed at present, but I think there's an "Options" button on the toolbar where you can choose "Clear Search History" which deletes the items....
I think if you're using internet explorer you need to go to Tools then Internet Options click on the Content Tab and then play with the Autocomplete settings until it stops doing it, you should be able to delete any previous entries as well. Good luck, Mr M must be a lucky man!
The Internet Options in Explorer will only clear the history of IE itself... the Google Toolbar is a separate program and must be cleared separately.

On the far left is the Google logo with a small arrow pointing down. Click on this and there you will find the Clear Search History option!
It's probably tedious, but only takes me about 2 minutes to clear the history in Google... Just bring up Google, type in letter 'a'... it will then drop down a box with all previous searches begining with letter 'a'. Place your cursor over or in line with the first item and it will highlight. Leave the cursor there, but now just key 'Delete' key...hold it down and it will delete each item. Now, backspace the letter 'a' out and enter letter 'b'... repeat process until completely through the alphabet... Works for me...

Are pool tables comensurate with 'living off the land'? Could be, I suppose... heck of a tornado shelter!
Hi, On the Google toolbar, where the name Google appears there is a downward pointing arrow on the right hand side next to the letter "E", by left clicking this you will find an option to remove previous serches.

Cheers

Clanad, that is a long-winded way of doing it!! I'm guessing you're using FireFox, so if you go to Tools -> Clear Private Data (or just press Ctrl+Shft+Del) and ensure that "Saved Form Information" is checked then press the "Clear Private Data Now", your search history will be zapped in less than a second!

CSG2306, that's what I said :)
Sorry mattfox,

Maybe I should have read through all of the answers. I got bored after the first couple.

Apologies.
No need to apologise! At least it confirms that it's the right answer :D
Problem is, mattfox, just bringing up Google out of favorites doesn't bring up the tool bar (I'm on IE, by the way), hence there is no 'down arrow'. I really don't see the arrow when I do go to the toolbar... Thanx!

Thank you to all for your concise responses for a poor computer user such as myself! I have successfully managed to delete the history.

It's me who is the liver off the land; Mr M is most definately a not liver off the land, but i am working on him. I harvested my first lettuces and tomatoes today and even 2 yellow corgettes (ar ethey meant to be yellow? I guess so.) and so we are having a yummy organic-ish dinner. i also have had loads of success with my wildlife pond and now have some resident frogs and hedgehogs and not a slug in sight...Hurruah, nature does work!
love to you all
