If you see them up close, they're huge. Coombe Martin Wildlife Park used to have a couple of them. Impressive. A couple of times this year we've had a Barn Owl sat on our back fence. Every time I try to take a photo it flys off!

You need to be quicker, 10CS!

How lucky you are to have Barn Owls around.
Tilly, and this is North Manchester! Not a quiet rural village! We do have Tandle Hill Park a couple of miles away, though.

They'll be from the park then. Just googled it. It looks like a lovely place. It reminds me a bit of Alderley Edge.
Home alone. Has anyone seen the male eagle owl?
Grubs up. Lots of crunching and squealing.
A muskrat has just been stashed behind the chicks.
Grubs up again.
I think I spotted a newly hatched chick on the goshawks nest.
Yay chick ! First time I've seen it. It's still trying to hide in the crevice though, turning it's back on the camera.

Thanks, Melv. It was offline last time I looked. That rewind facility is a bonus. :-)
Looks like the female has gone missing at the Sheffield peregrine nest, leaving the male to incubate alone.
This doesn't bode well:-(
Question Author
Aw!
How long has she been missing ?
The Twitter site says most of yesterday and last night.
Question Author
Yes, I just had a look. Very sad news.
Reading further down the Twitter posts, it looks like there's been another intruder.
Panic over. It was the female on the eggs and the male returned about an hour ago... Twitter eh...
The eggs were left unbrooded for 75mins. That could be of some concern.
Lassie and Laddie at Loch of the Lowes are incubating three eggs at the moment so fingers crossed. Predators are a real pest.
