hello. What a fantastic day. Holiday. No game. Beautiful weather. SWMBO and His Nibs enjoying themselves gardening. Me, a man of leisure, doing the Crossie, enjoying the delights of their labour and no complaints from them.. it is a lovely garden. SWMBO's green fingers and God's gifts. Bliss.
And I have more or less finished the Crossie. But, as always, a tutorial is needed.
34d Not to be touched on behind , daughter ordered. "Tabulated" is the only thing I can see that fits but I have no other reason to think it's correct.
56ac "Where is the college porter?" barmaid said. "Beer cellar" fits and I suppose that's the barmaid "said" . but not a great clue imho.
37d Inch round close to the blue delta , not across the bay. "Side saddle" fits and that wouldn't be across a horse. But I don't get the blue delta bit
that will do for starters. As ever I'd be grateful for help

Question Author
Thank you so much NAC and Sedge47. What about the beer cellar? Is that right?
s
Thanks, steven. Yes, I had Beer Cellar, where the college porter would be. It sounds like Beer Seller, barmaid, but it seems rather clunky somehow.
Question Author
I agree that it's clunky. A few others were too, imho.
Old police supervisers choosing what to wear around wrists,
I know , from previous crosswords, there used to be things called watch committees and that, I am sure, is the answer . But I don't get the "what to wear round wrists. Do you?
s
A watch, Steven.
Question Author
Doh! how thick can I get?
But now His Nibs has decided he is thirsty and I am to accompany him to the hostelry. Lucky me!
