Bring it on. A good few many more could do with a stiff sentence in jail for spitting in the face of those who provide a service. Disgusting woman.

hc4361 - // Why should responsible people be denied a pre-flight treat because of the minority? //

A standard - and somewhat cliched argument that is always trotted out when this subject arises.

The reason is, people are far more likely to drink excessively in airports due to the boredom caused by waiting times. This is exacerbated by the effect of low pressure on alcohol consumption, combined with the additional sale of alcohol on flights.

So, in order to safeguard everyone, because a flight is not the place to have inebriated people misbehaving, stop serving alcohol in airports.

People who drink for a 'pre-flight treat' can manage without alcohol, they can be grown-up enough to accept the limitations in order to keep everyone safe.
Take an appropriate pill to chill, but lose the booze if flying. One day alcohol will be banned for flying.
But you can buy your own booze once through departures.

Luton airport have closed the bar pre-departure.

I've never been bored in an airport, Andy, I have a few drinks, something to eat, look round the shops...
Smoking is banned in football stadiums.This doesn't mean smokers are all irresponsible but the ban is there for a very good reason.

You cannot compromise on safety.
I can't see why people need to have a drink during a flight .

I can see why airlines sell it though - its a good little earner
Additionally the cabin crew i believe , supplement their wages , from the sale of alcohol
It depends why people drink, Baz, some people don't know when to stop, but most do.

Quite true Bazile
The cabin crew will always find time to push their trolley sales no matter how long or short the flight duration. My niece was an air stewardess for Canada 2000, before marrying ,and the crew relied on sales from the trolley to subsidise their poor pay at the time.
This little vignette raised my eyebrows.....

//Then she can be heard to say, to a fellow passenger: 'Speak to the police? Are you f****** joking me? I'm a f****** barrister. A human rights lawyer, and an international criminal lawyer.
'For the f****** Palestinian people. You think I'm scared, you threaten me with [bleeped]. You'll be standing on your [bleeped] heads.
'Also Irish Republican Army. You'll be [bleeped] shot.//

You can take the woman out of Belfast but you can't...……………..

Indeed. What a creature she is. I detest people drunk or not who act 'tough'.
//A credit to the bar.//

As long as the booze is flowing. (^_*)
Air marshals armed with tasers would do the trick.
Have you ever been on a flight and knew who was an air marshal ?
Isn't that the point? Aren't they there to observe and only step in if needed?

Isn't that an American thing?
I've never witnessed anyone being drunk on a flight.

//Isn't that an American thing?//
Certainly is but EL AL devised the concept first. They no longer wanted to lose more of their flight crew to terrorist attacks after Brook Street London, killing.
I've only seen it on 'Bridesmaids' (the film)
I'd like her to serve the full six months, but she won't ! Arrogant witch.
