For the last 2 1/2 years my eldest son has been training with the aim of joining the armed forces, specifically the Royal Marines. His dedication and motivation have been amazing. As part of his preparation he applied to join the reserves but was recently referred due to his hearing. He’s been to see a specialist today and was told they can do nothing about one ear and might be able to do something about the other - but he will still be ineligible to join the forces. I’ve been gutted all day but he’s just got in and he has a plan B - I would have been in a heap in the floor in his position.

237 - forces definitely out of the running, the specialist also does works at the local army camp so he knows it is a no go.

I’ll give the boy a few days and we’ll get on to plan B although I suspect he already is :)
So sorry to hear that Sher but go him for having a plan B. I honestly believe that sometimes things happen for a reason and plan B might be epic for him x
He has a 'Plan B'? Could you not introduce him to the PM. Joking aside, hope things work out for him, whatever he does.
Sherr, your kids are an absolute credit to you.

I think we feel their disappointment more than they do sometimes. Hopefully, his Plan B will come to fruition.
