New Washing Machine Leaking First Use

I had a new machine delivered yesterday and used it the first time in the afternoon.
It was a 59 minute cycle and just past the midway point I heard water splashing. Enough to need a large towel to mop up. It was...mostly...on the floor in front. And it was grey-ish. This was a dark wash, but I still wouldn't expect that "tint".
Repair men came this morning...no connection problems they said. There for, the fault was in the machine. After speaking to AO customer services I was directed to the manufacturer. They are sending someone on Friday.
Any ideas as to cause? Everyone's reaction was " that's odd, strange, shouldn't happen".

No idea sorry but you shouldn't have to wait until Friday, not with a new machine.

Perhaps all the engineers are rushing around fixing faults in other new washing machines. If a repairman can't fix it the fault is anyone's guess
I recall plumbing in my new washing machine about four years ago. I had to cap off the hot water feed because it was now obsolete. I happily connected cold pipe to cold feed and it leaked.
Plumber recognised the problem immediately. The old feeds had obsolete taps on them. It was changed. No leaks.
Three days does not seem excessive wait these days. Last week I waited eight days for virgin media to fix my landline. :-(

Thanks for that retro.
I could have had an engineer today, but I wanted to get into work, as my manager was threatening me with disciplinary action for an unauthorised absence...that's a whole different story :-(
Anyway...that's why Friday.
