Has anyone any idea of how much this is likely to cost if done privately?

Googling brought up a Mail story from 2010 that quoted £25,000

Personally I have no idea and I doubt very much if Princess Eugenie could hazard a guess either.
based on the States experience of a friend of mine some 10 to 15k before physio.....

is this a real question or
just foo I was wondering in an idle moment?

figures quoted £25 000 seem about right

but you need some pretty complex care which is UNLIKELY to be available in a private unit
so get it done on the NHS

This indeed a genuine question. I was asked to pose it by a family which is exploring all avenues due to an excessive wait on the NHS list.
OK - tell them to wait
the child (?) may not be operated on because the Cobb angle is wrong ( not great enough ) or is not progressing

the problem about such a serious operation on a child is that the private hospital system arent really geared up to such procedures

you might get a better deal if you sought about getting the procedure done privately in a recognised childrens facility.

this is an area where money doesnt really talk ....

Thanks for all answers which have helped in the decision to wait.
