I want to put an HDMI Cable through a brick wall. The cable is 21mm wide at its widest.

If I use a 20mm masonry bit, will there be enough ‘extra’ to wiggle the HDMI cable through?

Possibly
:-)
Is it just the cable or are there connectors on the end?
Hard to say. You could try to ream out the hole a bit by moving the drill bit in and out whilst tilting it from side to side. Possibly washing-up liquid lubricant would help when inserting the cable.

It’s a standard HDMI unit - the cable is only about 10mm - it’s the INTEGRAL connector which is the 21mm.

I suppose a really skilled person could cut and resolder, but that ain’t me.
I think its well likely, knowing that masonry bits and hammer drills tend to leave a little wriggle room.
How about a test hole on a spare brick ?

Thanks atheist - yes, the w/up liquid is a good trick.
There's the way to go from chipchopper

Simples - test hole

Thanks chipchopper.
Personally I'd use a 25mm core bit. Which is what I did do for mine.
Maybe best to blow the hole through before adding lubricant so as not to clog it. A bit of tubing and some puff; or suck with a vacuum cleaner.
Are you sure it's 21mm?
That seems to be very large for an HDMI cable.
Or drill two 10mm holes side by side so you end with a slot

Well, measure one - as I said, it’s the end fittings that (I think) are 21mm, not the cabley bit.
Question Author
Fitzer. 2 holes as a slot might do it, thanks.

(And I’ve just re-measured - it IS 21mm, I’m afraid!)
Question Author
25mm is a very hefty bit - not sure it would get into my drill...
As said masonry drills are always a little bit untidy so a little bit of wiggling on two 10mm holes will easily give you a 21mm slot
Wriggle the drill.
Or file it slightly wider.
Adding stuff like Washing up liquid would with the inevitable brickdust cause a paste clogging the the terminals. No WU liquid at least you could blow the dust out of the plug.
