We now have central heating, Conne after a freezing day yesterday...it isn't thanks to God though.....it's thanks to the most amazing and helpful plumber named Raymond....I love him....... :-)

Whoever invented pushbutton heating has done us all a big favour. It beats cleaning out the ashes from the fireplace, laying more paper and wood, and then being roasted on your front and frozen on your back.

Indeed, BB...but I have gone backwards. I am now the owner of a beautiful fireplace....a stack of wood and a pile of Irish peat.....bliss..... :-)

don't get measles on your legs Gness. We used to get them all the time in our old house and then we spent time rubbing bleach on our legs to get rid of the "measles".

Not sitting too close, Conne....the house is warm and the fire is just for seeing shapes in the flames....

We had planned to spend time in both countries with a friend of Dave's living in the UK one this year but to be honest I have no inclination to go back....it's easy to settle here and be happy......x
