Who knows? Maybe it would have done better without all the suspicion.... I can't see how any adult man with enough about him to make a successful music career, could be anywhere near as naive as he made out.
I was never a fan of his, but just wouldn't want the word "paedophile" going through my head while listening to music... so I disagree that all publicity is good.
