How boring was it? :-)
Well done. Commendable. It is obvious in this day and age that a good many parents/parent cannot bother to discuss their children's progress let alone their regular attendance at Parent's evening .

Not boring at all (the secondary ‘consultations’ are v boring).

Wouldn’t have missed any but it was on the day my mother died.
Well done, you. Blimey, with 5 children there must have been a heck of a lot of those evenings.
Has your secondary school choice been granted ?

Clover - I used to have to do them all on the same evening, they used to go on and on (at one stage, four of the kids were in primary at the same time).

Bazile, yes, thank you - lots of people were really unlucky though because they’ve changed the rules on how they allocate schools.
Well done Sherr, one chapter done, on to the next.

Quiet Parent's evenings your way Retrocop?

They're always packed out in my experience.
They're always packed out in my experience.

And mine, Mamya. Never missed any with my three kids at primary school or secondary school.
Good - getting married and waiting to see if you've been granted your choice of school , must be right there at the top of stressful events
My parents never went to one of my parents evenings. Well done you xx
Well done Sherrardk. When I read the opening post, I thought crickey me and mine were out of primary school by the time we were 10 or 11. Then I read on. (^_*)
Side tracker. Any of you ever served on the PTA? Mare! I allowed myself to once be elected as vice chairman without knowing that the next year it automatically made me Chairman. Still having nightmares about the summer fair and the fund raising efforts.

I’ve stopped doing the secondary ones - it’s just the form teacher (who might not even teach the child) reading out the report that I’ve already read. Also, if there’s a problem (I either side) I’d expect to have it sorted out when it happens, not wait until consultation - I can access a shed load of information about my children online (much to my son’s dismay).
You would expect problems to b sorted, wouldn't you? when daughter 2 was clearly not doing as much work in the 6th form as daughter 1, different school, I rang the Director of the 6th Form and made an appointment for the end of the week, to give him time to ask around about her. When we went he said he'd was so glad we rang as it seemed that none of her year were doing enough work, he seemed to expect us to be pleased! When I said the surely he should have known that already he seemed a bit deflated!
